Jatiluwih Rice Terrace located in Jatiluwih village that has a large expanse of rice fields with a panoramic view of beautiful terraced rice fields, which is located in the Penebel District, Tabanan Regency, Bali. Jatiluwih is a tourist village, with beautiful panoramas accompanied by terraced rice fields. The air is cool because it is at an average altitude of 700 meters above sea level. Since 2000, Jatiluwih has become a tourist destination, especially those who like natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy the fresh atmosphere, because during the day the air in Jatiluwih is never hot to 20 degrees Celsius. Jatiluwih Village is famous as a tourist spot with the beauty of terraced rice fields that still use the traditional Balinese irrigation system, the location is close to the Batukaru mountains with quite cool air conditions.
The origin of the word Jatiluwih comes from the words Jaton and Luwih. "Jaton" means amulet, while "Luwih" means good, from the meaning of the word it can be concluded that Jatiluwih means a village which has a talisman that is really good / effective or a testament. From the meaning of Jatiluwih, until now it can be proven by the existence of products from farming and gardening that are sufficient to meet the needs of life and welfare for all residents and guarantee the safety of the residents while running a farming life. In the past, many Brahmins, Knights, Wesia and Sudras came from the Tabanan area who visited Jatiluwih Village with the hope of asking for the safety and welfare of their respective groups.
From a geographical point of view, Jatiluwih Village is an agricultural area with rice farmers as the majority.
