Rambut Siwi Temple Rambut Siwi Temple is located in Jembrana Regency, about 20 minutes from Kota Negara. The temple that keeps this legend is usually visited by Hindus who ask for Yeh Suci (holy water). Going down to the southeastern part of Rambut Siwi Temple is Pura Segara. Next to Segara Temple, there is Penataran Temple. In the prayer program, especially if there is a pujawali or piodalan, the three temples are closely related. These three temples serve as a medium to ask for peace in the Tri Loka. Asking for peace at the Tri Loka is stated in the Atharvaveda mantra in the above quote. If the sky, air and land and water on earth are in a state of peace, then agrarian life which is rooted in the existence of agriculture must work well.
The people in the Jembrana area ask God at the Rambut Siwi Temple with the Penataran Temple and the Segara Temple so that the earth, air and sky are not disturbed by their function as a source of agrarian economic life in Jembrana. Economic prosperity really depends on the fulfillment of people's needs for food, drink, clothing and housing. If the soil and water are damaged, the dirty air is full of pollution, then agriculture will be difficult to develop properly.
It is told in the mythology of the arrival of Mpu Dang Hyang Nirartha from East Java to Bali. According to Mpu Bhaskara Murti from Geria Madu Sudana in the city of Negara, when Mpu Dang Hyang Nirartha went to Bali, one of the temples he visited was Rambut Siwi Temple. When he entered the temple, the temple guard required Mpu Dang Hyang Nirartha to pray at the temple. If not, he will be killed by a tiger. Because it is required, worship him at the temple. It turned out that the temple was falling apart. Because of that, the temple guard finally apologized to Mpu Dang Hyang Nirartha. In addition, the temple guards ask that the temple be returned to its original state. Due to the awareness of Mpu Dang Hyang Nirartha, the temple was back to its original state. Mpu Dang Hyang Nirartha took a strand of his hair and placed it in the temple to be used as a means of worship at the temple. Since then the temple is called Pura Rambut Siwi. The name Rambut Siwi is more popular today.
The location of the main temple is on a cliff by the beach, with a natural view of the Indian Ocean, so that the atmosphere is beautiful, calm, peaceful and full of spiritual aura, it is not surprising that this place is the most ideal place to meditate or calm down. Apart from being a holy place, Rambut Siwi is also one of the tourist attractions in Jembrana Regency which is a mandatory destination when scheduling tours for West Bali. Before arriving at your main destination, you will be treated to a stretch of rice fields as if welcoming visitors.
